Annual food truck festival returns to Little Rock in new location
The annual Downtown Food Truck Festival, the largest of its kind in Arkansas, is all set to make its return to the heart of Little Rock but with a change of venue. This signature event that brings together food enthusiasts is moving from its traditional home on Main Street to Capitol Avenue between Woodlane and Chester Streets.
The Downtown Little Rock Partnership, the organizers, are excited about the change, which promises more space for tens of thousands of visitors and over 60 participating food trucks. Their goal is not just to feed the hungry masses but to spark a revitalization of the area, incorporating handmade goods, live music, and good vibes to create an immersive experience.
Capitol Avenue has been earmarked as a key area for development in the Downtown Master Plan. By hosting the festival here, the partnership hopes to bring life back to the vacant buildings along the street. This strategic move follows the successful transformation of Main Street, where the festival was previously held.
- Expect a fun-filled day on September 22nd, from 11 am to 6 pm.
- The new location should accommodate larger crowds and offer more space for the festival’s many attractions.
The festival, now in its 13th year, is seen as a major catalyst for revitalizing the area. As Gabe Holmstrom, the Executive Director of the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, puts it, “Our hope is that bringing thousands of people together to the area will again spark new ideas and interest for one of our state’s most important streets.”
Stay tuned for updates on the full lineup of food trucks and more information on the festival.
