Candidate Materials Available for Little Rock City Board Seats on November Ballot
Aspiring candidates for the Little Rock City Board of Directors can now access the necessary materials for the upcoming November 5, 2024, election. Forms and petitions are available online and at Little Rock City Hall for those interested in running for the wards and at-large positions.
There are four seats up for grabs, including the Ward 4 Representative and three At-Large positions (8, 9, and 10). Each position is elected for a four-year term, and candidates must meet specific qualifications to be eligible.
These qualifications include being a registered voter, a Little Rock resident for at least thirty days, and over twenty-one years of age. Candidates must also obtain a petition with at least fifty signatures from qualified electors of the city. There is no filing fee required.
The candidate information packets include essential documents and details on state and municipal election laws. Interested individuals can review these materials to ensure they meet the necessary criteria and follow the proper process.
The filing period for completed packets begins on July 31, 2024, and runs until August 7, 2024, at noon. It is crucial to return these packets in person to the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall. Once elected, the officials will take office on January 1, 2025.
Additional post-election filing requirements include the Statement of Financial Interest Form and Campaign Contribution Reports. The first is due by August 12, 2024, while the final report is due thirty days after the election.
This election is a significant opportunity for candidates to shape the future of Little Rock’s governance, ensuring that the city’s development aligns with their vision and the needs of its citizens.
