Little Rock Directors Greenlight Renovation Plans for Arkansas River Trail
On a recent Tuesday, the Little Rock City Board of Directors gave the go-ahead for a comprehensive renovation project focusing on the bike trail at Two Rivers Park, which is part of the Arkansas River Trail system. This project aims to refurbish the trail to ensure the safety of cyclists who have been facing obstacles due to pine tree roots, a pressing issue that has been affecting the park.
As the city takes steps to enhance the Arkansas River Trail, several key improvements come into play. Parks and Recreation Director Leland Couch emphasized the need to emphasize trail maintenance despite the challenges posed by limited financial resources.
The bike trail in Two Rivers Park, spanning approximately a mile and a half, is a critical segment within the larger 40-mile Arkansas River Trail system. Cyclists like Van Reid have been pushing for these improvements to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable ride for visitors, thereby also promoting bike tours.
