LITTLE ROCK MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING HIGH-SPEED CHASE AND TRAFFIC CRASH
On a fateful day, a 29-year-old man from Little Rock found himself in a precarious situation. Caught in a web of his own undertaking, his actions led to a series of events that would leave a trail of destruction and danger in its wake.
The events began on a normal day in May 2023. However, for Christopher Monroe, this day would be anything but ordinary. His choice to flee from authorities sparked a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of up to 120 mph through the heavy traffic on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock and Interstate 30 in Little Rock. The frenzied pursuit only drew to a close when Monroe was finally apprehended.

He faced a litany of charges, including trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession of narcotics and methamphetamine with intent to deliver, felony fleeing, simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, aggravated assault of law enforcement, and criminal mischief. Colonel Mike Hagar expressed his gratitude that no innocent lives were lost during the chase, thanking God for the protection of the troopers and those who were simply trying to go about their daily routines.

Years later, another incident on Interstate 40 would involve a hit-and-run by Charles Pope of Mayflower, who struck a woman’s vehicle and faced charges of felony aggravated assault. Both cases exemplify the crucial role that law enforcement plays in keeping the roads safe from reckless and criminal behavior.
