Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Event at Arkansas Capitol Brings Critical Awareness to the Forefront
Prostate cancer, a silent yet common enemy, requires both immediate and sustained attention. Hence, each year, September is dedicated to shedding light on this critical issue. The Arkansas Capitol recently witnessed a significant event marking the start of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
It is a timely reminder that the threat of prostate cancer looms large, necessitating collective efforts to address it. The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation (APCF) has been a key driver in this fight, organizing events and offering resources to raise both funds and awareness. In a reinvigorated format, their signature gala, now dubbed “Bourbon, Beards, and Blue Ribbons,” is scheduled to take place on September 19, 2024, at the Chenal Country Club.
The event promises to be an immersive experience, bringing together fun and sophistication. It includes activities like fly-casting lessons, axe throwing, and haircuts, complemented by a bourbon tasting.
Moreover, the gala will honor committed members of the No Shave Club, whoworked extensively during No Shave November to raise funds for the APCF. There will also be a vibrant auction featuring exclusive sports memorabilia and extended vacation packages.
- To further amplify awareness and provide tangible support, Arkansas Urology will offer free prostate cancer screenings from September 3 to 6, in Little Rock.
These concerted efforts will help in the ongoing pursuit of heightened awareness and crucial funding for the fight against prostate cancer.
