State of Arkansas Opens First Safe Haven for Youth in Crisis in Little Rock

Named The Station, this facility offers a secure environment for Arkansans between 18 and 24 years old who are struggling with homelessness and various forms of trauma. The building includes essential amenities such as private sleeping quarters and bathrooms, a communal kitchen, counseling services, and an outdoor space for residents.
Facility Details and Capacity
The Station can accommodate up to 15 young people at a time, with the possibility of stays as long as 90 days. The facility’s executive director, Eric Gilmore, emphasized the commitment to providing comprehensive support, stating that they didn’t cut corners or compromise on resources for these individuals.
