Benton County Sheriff’s Office Works to Keep Children Safe Online
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is taking proactive measures to protect children from online dangers. Recognizing the importance of parental involvement, the office hosts “Parents Night Out” events to educate parents about the critical issue of online safety for children.
On February 20, 2024, the office will conduct a two-hour presentation at Bentonville High School, focusing on specific topics elucidating the methods used by children to evade parental monitoring and the identification of popular apps they frequent. Interactive demonstrations and a question-answer session will also be included in the program.
Kicking off at 6 pm, the event will provide light snacks in the lobby before the presentation. To ensure a comprehensive and informed discussion, children are not permitted to attend this event due to the sensitive nature of the content. Parents are encouraged to share the event with others who could benefit from this valuable information.
The office is committed to fostering a safer online environment for our youth. With the understanding that online safety is a critical aspect of modern parenting, the “Parents Night Out” event aims to equip parents with the necessary tools to monitor and protect their children effectively.
