Boil Order Issued for Part of Rogers

Precautionary Measures Ensue After Water Main Break in Rogers, AR

A precautionary boil order has been issued for Water Utilities customers from the Prairie Creek area to east of the Arkansas 12 bridge over Beaver Lake. The affected regions include areas along Highways 12 east of Dream Valley Road, Beaver Shores, and those in and around Prairie Creek.

Repairs and Safety Precautions

The boil order was prompted by a broken water main, which resulted in pressure loss in the distribution system. Repairs on the broken main began on Friday morning. As a precautionary measure, customers are advised to take certain actions to ensure safety. This includes boiling water briskly for one minute before consumption, discarding existing ice cubes, and using boiled water for cleaning and cooking.

Preventative Steps for Daily Activities

While handling the situation, residents are recommended to use bottled or boiled water for activities such as brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food. For personal hygiene, use of soap and water for washing hands, with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer as an alternative, are advised. Additionally, precautionary measures for pets include providing them with bottled or boiled water for drinking.

Advisory Duration and Resolution

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until the problem has been fully resolved, disinfectant levels are satisfactory, and all bacteriological tests confirm water safety. Once resolved, public notification will follow to ensure that all residents are informed of the change. Residents may contact Brent Dobler, Superintendent at Rogers Water Utilities, with any inquiries.
