The Children & Family Advocacy Center: Providing Comprehensive Services
The Children & Family Advocacy Center (CFAC) is dedicated to empowering individuals and families impacted by trauma. This nonprofit organization is a beacon of hope for those in need, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the diverse requirements of its clients.
The CFAC has a rich history, emerging from the merger of two long-standing organizations: the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County and Restoration Village. This strategic union not only consolidated resources but also brought together over 30 years of combined experience in serving the community and supporting recovery from abuse. Today, the center stands as a testament to the power of collaboration.
Restoring Lives: Evening of Impact
On September 5, 2024, the CFAC hosted its annual “Restoring Lives: Evening of Impact.” This event, presented by Kellanova and Circana and chaired by Heather Clark of Walmart US, took place at The Osage House. The garden party theme provided a unique atmosphere for attendees to enjoy light appetizers and drinks while engaging with the center’s mission. The evening highlighted the critical role of sponsorship and community partnerships in supporting the center’s work. Staff members shared the importance of continued funding to ensure the continuation of their essential services.
Services and Impact
The CFAC is unparalleled in its commitment to addressing the complexities of trauma recovery. It offers forensic interviews, medical examinations, mental health counseling, and residential care, all at no cost to clients. The center has expanded its reach by opening a satellite location in Gentry, serving western Benton County and beyond. This strategic move has led to a noteworthy increase in the number of individuals served, with a 2% to 5% annual growth in clientele.
The center plays an influential role in policy-making, actively engaging with local law enforcement, prosecutors, child maltreatment investigators, and social workers. These partnerships ensure comprehensive support for victims of trauma, tailored to their specific needs. The CFAC also collaborates with organizations such as The Call, Saving Grace, and NWA Women’s Shelter to provide holistic care to those in need.
As it looks ahead to the future, the CFAC envisions impacting at least 50,000 individuals in Benton County by 2030. This ambitious goal reflects the organization’s commitment to driving a cultural shift that breaks the cycle of abuse and fosters a safer, more resilient community for all. Through continued growth, strategic planning, and its dedication to its mission, the CFAC remains a vital force in Northwest Arkansas.
By fostering nurturing leadership within its ranks and actively engaging with the community, the CFAC sets a high standard for the support it provides. Its comprehensive approach ensures that every family has the opportunity not only to address the immediate crisis but to build a foundation for lifelong restoration and healing.
