Fayetteville Deputy Chief Arrested for DWI

Chief Deputy Bradley Renfro of the Fayetteville Police Department was taken into custody by the Arkansas State Police on June 26 at 10:41 p.m. He was pulled over by a trooper at Wedington Drive and Fieldstone Avenue for a malfunctioning headlight. Subsequently, he was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to undergo a chemical test, and the defective headlight.

Renfro, who assumed the role of Deputy Chief in December 2023, has a rich history in law enforcement, serving for 27 years, as well as an honorable discharge from the United States Army. Following his arrest, Renfro was released from the Washington County jail after posting a ,105 bond.

Renfro is currently on administrative leave as the Arkansas State Police conducts an investigation into the criminal aspects of the arrest. In addition, the Fayetteville Police Department is carrying out an internal inquiry during his absence. Renfro is set to appear in court on September 9.
