FEMA Reports Significant Application Rate for Disaster Relief in Benton County
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that as of June 7, 2024, 2,300 Benton County residents have applied for disaster relief grants in response to the severe storms and flooding that occurred on May 24-27.
This surge in applications is likely linked to the opening of a Mobile Unit in Decatur and a Disaster Recovery Center in Bentonville, which began operations on June 6. The Disaster Recovery Center, located at the Northwest Arkansas Community College, provides one-on-one assistance to affected individuals from Benton, Boone, and Marion counties.
Applications for disaster assistance are being facilitated through multiple channels. Residents can apply online at disasterassistance.gov, download the FEMA App, or call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Additionally, residents can visit the Disaster Recovery Center or the Mobile Unit in Decatur for personal assistance.
