Golf tournament raises nearly million for children’s hospital

Golf Tournament Raises Nearly 0000 for Children’s Hospital

The annual Fall Golf Classic for Blythedale Children’s Hospital entered its 27th year, marking a significant milestone in its long-standing fundraising efforts for the medical facility. This year’s event was particularly successful, bringing in a substantial sum of almost 0000 for the hospital.

Organized by Carmine Lippolis and sponsored by BNC Insurance, the event saw the participation of over 130 golfers at the Siwanoy Country Club in Bronxville, NY. Despite the rainy conditions earlier in the day, the afternoon saw a shift to clear skies, mirroring the optimism and enthusiasm of the supporters gathered there. Over the years, this event has managed to raise nearly million, with a considerable portion going towards supporting the hospital’s Day Hospital program, which provides critical medical care to children who can be managed at home yet require advanced attention.

The Day Hospital program offers multidisciplinary care, combining medical treatment with education for these children who are well enough to live at home but need more comprehensive support than what their local schools or communities can offer. This innovative approach has been at the heart of Blythedale Hospital’s mission, and the continued success of the Fall Golf Classic ensures that the hospital can continue to provide this vital service to its patients.

In addition to the golf event, attendees were privileged to hear the inspiring story of Charlie DeGennaro, a high school senior who had been admitted to Blythedale in 2020 after developing paralysis due to transverse myelitis. His remarkable recovery journey resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting the significance of the funds raised and the positive impact they would have on other patients like him.
