Mercy Hospital receives million from Walmart Foundation

Significant Donation Boosts Medical Care in Northwest Arkansas

Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas has received a substantial boost in its healthcare capabilities thanks to a generous million donation from the Walmart Foundation.

This donation marks a significant investment in the region’s healthcare infrastructure, as it will be instrumental in setting up a dedicated interventional radiology suite at the hospital’s Rogers campus. This advanced suite will feature cutting-edge medical technology, notably a robot-controlled system that uses imaging techniques to visualize blood flow and guide minimally invasive treatments for various conditions.

The suite will enable Mercy to offer advanced treatments that were previously unavailable in the region, significantly reducing the need for patients to travel outside Northwest Arkansas for medical services. The region currently loses approximately 0 million annually due to out-of-region medical care. With this new technology, Mercy aims to reverse this trend and provide better care closer to patients’ homes.

Beyond the new interventional radiology suite, the donation will support the hospital’s expansion plans. This includes investing in top-tier medical professionals, specialty services, and state-of-the-art technology to further enhance healthcare options in Northwest Arkansas. The remaining funds will be allocated to other projects to be announced in the future, all of which will contribute to meeting the growing healthcare demands of the region.

This significant investment not only advances medical care in the region but also underscores the collaborative efforts of local organizations to improve overall healthcare outcomes. The commitment from the Walmart Foundation will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of Northwest Arkansas residents.
