New Bentonville Program Assists Residents in Purchasing E-Bikes

The city of Bentonville is launching a new program to help its residents purchase e-bikes. The Bentonville E-Bike Rebate Program demonstrates the city’s commitment to alternative transportation methods by providing financial assistance to residents who want to invest in eco-friendly commuting options. The program aims to promote safe and intuitive trail corridors and support the use of e-bikes that suit individual needs.

The application process for the program is divided into two steps. Firstly, applicants must register during specific pre-application periods throughout the year. If selected, they will then need to provide additional documentation to complete their application. The rebates are awarded randomly, with pre-application periods and drawings taking place each month from September to November.

Residents can choose from various types of e-bikes, including standard e-bikes, mountain e-bikes, adaptive e-bikes, and cargo e-bikes. The rebate amounts vary depending on the type of e-bike and the income level of the applicant. Non-income-qualified applicants can receive 0 for standard or mountain e-bikes and 0 for adaptive or cargo e-bikes. Income-qualified applicants can receive higher rebates of up to ,300 for certain e-bikes.

To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside within the city of Bentonville. They must also purchase the e-bike from a participating retailer in Bentonville, as online sales are not allowed. The program further requires proof of residency within the city and income documentation for income-qualified applicants.

Residents who are not selected for the program in the initial year will be automatically enrolled in the next drawing. Once the rebate is awarded, recipients have 60 days to redeem it for an e-bike purchase.

The Bentonville E-Bike Rebate Program is part of the city’s efforts to reduce reliance on traditional vehicles and promote a healthier environment. With the support of private grants from companies like Walmart and the Walton Family Foundation, the program aims to positively impact the community by encouraging the use of e-bikes for transportation and recreation.
