The Read It Again Bookstore at Bentonville Public Library Seeks Community Support
Before the Bentonville Public Library’s upcoming closure, the Read It Again Bookstore is calling on local book lovers to help fill its new shelves. The bookstore, located inside the library, is set to receive 264 additional shelves, expanding its inventory to support the library’s programming and special projects
During the library’s closure in October, the bookstore will be prepared to accommodate this added capacity. The existing 66 shelves at the bookstore will be supplemented by the new installations, more than quadrupling the available space for books and other materials.
In response to this expansion, the bookstore is organizing a “Load the Truck” book drive on September 28. Patrons are encouraged to drop off donated materials from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in front of the library. The bookstore is seeking gently used books of all genres and reading levels, as well as unscratched CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and unused journals and activity kits. Materials that are dirty, moldy, water-damaged, or excessively marked will not be accepted, nor will items like textbooks, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, cassettes, or three-ring binders.
The Read It Again Bookstore, operated by the Friends of the Bentonville Library, plays a crucial role in supporting the library’s initiatives. Proceeds from the bookstore are used to fund the library’s programs and special projects. The bookstore operates from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. within the library. It offers a wide range of materials at affordable prices, with most books costing $.50 for paperbacks and .00 for hardcovers.
As the bookstore prepares for this growth, it relies on the generosity of the community. Donations can be made directly to the bookstore during its regular hours. Contributions will help stock the shelves and ensure that patrons continue to have access to reading materials and other resources that support literacy and learning.
