Springdale Public Library Launches Innovative ‘Emotions Snapshots Program’
Over the course of five sessions, participants in the “Emotions Snapshots Program” will learn to harness the art of photography to capture and express their emotions. The classes are tailored for children in grades 4-7 and are scheduled to take place every Wednesday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, starting on October 2 and culminating on November 7. Each session will focus on teaching children how to notice and manage their emotions effectively, promoting overall personal growth and development.
The program’s partnership with 100Cameras ensures that participants have the necessary resources to excel. Cameras will be provided, ensuring equal access to all enrolled children. Additionally, registration is required, and start¬¬ing two weeks prior to the program, allowing parents to plan and secure spots for their children.
The program’s impact goes beyond the classroom. The library will host an art exhibition featuring the photographs taken by the participants, providing a platform for the children to showcase their newfound skills and share their emotional journeys with the community. The exhibition will be on November 7 and will serve as a celebration of the children’s hard work and accomplishment.
The “Emotions Snapshots Program” is a testament to Springdale Public Library’s commitment to supporting the well-being and development of local children, providing them with valuable tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and emotional intelligence.
