Springdale School Board accepts .25 million offer to sell land at intersection of Don Tyson Parkway, George Anderson Road

Springdale School District Set to Sell 28.7 Acres of Land

The Springdale SchoolDistrict is taking significant steps to sell a substantial piece of land. The district has decided to market approximately 28.7 acres of land located at the intersection of Don Tyson Parkway and George Anderson Road for sale.

This initiative comes after the district purchased the land for 0,000 in 2018 with the intention of building an elementary school there. However, plans have since changed, and the district now aims to harness the proceeds from the sale to support expansion efforts for existing schools.

This move highlights the district’s continued focus on strategically utilizing its land resources. Earlier, the district made significant land purchases totaling 39.06 acres adjacent to the Don Tyson School of Innovation for around .2 million. The goal of these acquisitions is to provide greater flexibility for growth and personalized education. Further possibilities include the development of workforce-oriented educational programs.

The district has also demonstrated its ability to generate revenue through savvy land sales. In a recent sale, the district garnered approximately .3 million from the sale of two parcels of land totaling 36.06 acres. Additionally, the district purchased a piece of land on West Center Street for 7,000, which will help to complete a block of land adjacent to Bulldog Stadium.

The district’s proactive approach to managing its land assets is part of its comprehensive strategy to enhance and expand its educational services. These efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the overall educational experience for the district’s large student population, which totals over 21,800 students.
