Empowering Teens in Northwest Arkansas
Teen Action & Support Center (TASC) has been bridging the service gap for teens in Northwest Arkansas since its inception in 2005. Founded by community members and a youth-led advisory team, TASC’s primary goal is to empower teenagers to take action in their own lives and communities. The center offers a variety of free services catering specifically to teens, addressing the unique needs of this demographic.
TASC’s growth and development have been marked by strategic expansions. Starting with a single location on New Hope Road, the center expanded to Poplar Street in 2010 and later to Washington County in 2017. Today, TASC operates multiple locations, including offices in Springdale and Rogers, offering a range of programs tailored to support local adolescents.
Comprehensive Programs for Teens
TASC is dedicated to creating a holistic approach to support, embracing a philosophy of empowerment and connection. Five core programs have been developed to cater to diverse needs: Art & Culture, In Service, First Steps, Teen Thrive, and Restore counseling services. These programs provide an environment where teens can engage in new experiences, discover their talents, and build connections with others.
The Art & Culture program offers creative outlets for self-expression, while In Service encourages community involvement and volunteers. First Steps helps teens navigate significant life events, Teen Thrive focuses on building self-confidence, and Restore counseling services provide professional support for mental health.
Community Partnerships and Support
- Corporate partnerships and volunteer efforts have been instrumental in TASC’s growth, helping to secure locations and develop programs.
- Community supporters, sponsors, and donors have contributed to the center’s continued expansion and ability to sustain its programs.
